Backend Developer - JAVA

We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in enterprise application development, backend architectures, and batch processing solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Java, Spring technologies, relational databases, CI/CD practices, and modern software engineering principles, while leveraging AI-powered tools and Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve development efficiency and solution quality.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java 17+ and Spring Framework technologies

Develop and optimize batch processing solutions using Spring Batch to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance

Implement and maintain database access layers and SQL logic using Oracle Database

Manage database schema changes and version control through Flyway

Utilize Bitbucket for source code management, pull requests, and code reviews

Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins

Apply SOLID principles and software engineering best practices to deliver clean and maintainable code

Leverage prompt engineering techniques and LLMs such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to support development and troubleshooting activities

Track and manage project tasks and deliverables using Jira

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to technical and architectural discussions

Requirements and Qualifications

Strong experience with Java 17 or higher

Proven experience with Spring Framework and Spring Batch (2.x or higher)

Experience with Spring Boot

Hands-on experience with Oracle Database

Experience with database migration and versioning tools, preferably Flyway

Proficiency with Bitbucket for source code control and collaborative development

Strong experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins

Solid understanding of SOLID principles and clean code practices

Practical experience using prompt engineering techniques with LLMs such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini

Experience using Jira for task tracking and project management

Nice to Have

Experience or knowledge of DB2

Exposure to COBOL or Mainframe environments

Experience with IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS)

Knowledge of WinSCP for secure file transfers

Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments
