Requirements

Core skills

Ruby / Ruby on Rails (API-first development)

PostgreSQL with strong query optimization experience

Background job processing (Sidekiq or similar)

RSpec and test-driven development

API design and best practices

8+ years building backend systems with Rails

Strong ownership mindset; able to design, build, and operate services end-to-end

Experience scaling systems and improving performance

Comfortable debugging production issues and driving root cause fixes

Solid understanding of data modeling and tradeoffs

Ability to mentor engineers and raise the bar on code quality
