Sr. Software Engineer - Middleware - INTL

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Middleware for a top Digital & Consumer Technology client. This engineer will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining high-performance APIs and serverless services within a modern AWS ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS Lambda, Node.js/TypeScript development, and enterprise API integrations. This individual will own critical connections to third-party delivery and marketplace platforms such as DoorDash and Uber Eats, ensuring seamless order processing and menu synchronization across channels. The team is highly focused on modern development practices, leveraging AI tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude daily to accelerate software delivery, improve code quality, and enhance developer productivity. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys cloud-native architecture, large-scale integrations, and working at the intersection of digital commerce and cutting-edge technology. This is a 6-month ongoing contract.

Skills and Requirements 5+ years of hands-on production software development experience

Strong experience with AWS services, specifically: AWS Lambda

API Gateway

DynamoDB

SQS/SNS

Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js) Proficiency with Java or C#

Experience building and supporting RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs at scale

Experience with serverless architecture and cloud-native development

Strong understanding of integration patterns: Event-driven architectures

Webhooks

Async messaging

Pub/Sub

Experience integrating with third-party/vendor APIs

Daily utilization of AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, etc.)

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, GitHub, or Azure DevOps

Strong collaboration skills with technical and business stakeholders

Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring peers

Exposure to Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools

Hands-on experience with AEM

Experience with Adobe products including: Adobe Journey Optimizer

Adobe Analytics

Adobe Journey Analyzer

eCommerce Experience

Worked on platforms where you add to cart & checkout

Direct experience with DoorDash, Uber Eats, DoorDash Drive, or marketplace integrations

Exposure to Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools

Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, or AWS Cognito

Multi-region AWS deployment experience

Experience with CloudFront, Akamai, or global traffic management

Hands-on experience with Dynatrace, Datadog, or CloudWatch

Experience leveraging LLMs, AI agents, or prompt engineering in software delivery

QSR, retail, or e-commerce industry experience

AWS Certified Developer Associate or higher
