Lead Python Web Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Python Web Engineer to build and evolve secure, resilient financial technology services and APIs. You will guide system design, quality practices, and collaboration across distributed teams.

Responsibilities Design resilient, compliant, and auditable service architectures for financial platforms

Lead refactoring and redesign initiatives on critical systems to improve reliability and maintainability

Build Python web services and APIs using Flask and FastAPI

Define database models and data access patterns using PostgreSQL

Implement robust automated tests and coordinate manual integration testing where needed

Operate and troubleshoot services using AWS capabilities such as S3, Lambda, and CloudWatch

Enforce code review standards and mentor peers through feedback and shared learning

Collaborate with agile teams to plan, estimate, and deliver high-impact features

Coordinate work across global teams to align technical decisions and delivery timelines

Requirements 5+ years of Python web development experience with Flask and FastAPI

5+ years of cloud engineering experience with Amazon Web Services

Leadership experience guiding architecture and code quality in distributed teams

Project experience delivering complex, high-stakes applications in agile environments

Strong system design expertise across microservices, API design, and database modeling

Strong test automation skills including unit and manual integration testing

Strong Docker and containerization skills for local and production workflows

Strong PostgreSQL experience including schema design and performance considerations

Strong communication and collaboration skills with code reviews and peer learning

Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)

Comfortable cross-time-zone collaboration skills for global teamwork

Nice to have GitHub Actions expertise including CI/CD workflows and Jira to GitHub integrations

Kubernetes experience operating containerized services

Redis experience for caching or data structures in production systems
