The project and your role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive technical professional with strong expertise in SQL database administration and IIS web server management. You will maintain and optimize our database and web application systems, playing a critical role in ensuring the performance, security, and availability of our client's IT infrastructure within the IT Services and IT Consulting sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL).

Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IIS web servers and web applications.

Design and implement database schemas, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

Diagnose and resolve web application performance issues and errors.

Perform regular database tuning, optimization, and performance monitoring.

Implement and maintain backup and recovery plans; ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.

Plan and execute database conversions and migrations.

Apply go-live updates and changes to production databases and web applications.

Implement and maintain web server security best practices.

Collaborate with development, product, and infrastructure teams to support application data needs.

Troubleshoot and resolve database and web application-related issues.

Proven experience as a DBA with a strong emphasis on SQL.

Must-have expertise in MS SQL Server, MySQL, and AWS RDS.

Experience with IIS web server configuration and management.

Expertise in writing complex SQL queries and performance tuning.

Knowledge of web application troubleshooting methodologies.

Experience with database conversion projects and production go-live support.

Familiarity with backup strategies, replication, and disaster recovery planning.

Understanding indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
