For more than 30 years, the firm has helped financial institutions understand and manage the risks affecting the safety, resilience and performance of their assets across global markets. About the role We are looking for a Senior Cloud & Data Engineer to join our team at Thomas Murray, based in Bogota. Working alongside our data science and developer teams, you will collaborate with colleagues across the business to design, build, and operate the cloud infrastructure and data platforms that power our products and services. This role is central to our product ambitions – you will play a key part in building new cloud-based products for both new and existing Thomas Murray clients, working across the full stack of cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, and deployment tooling. Key Responsibilities Work with the data science and developer teams to design and build cloud based products and services for Thomas Murray clients. Architect and maintain scalable data platforms, including pipelines, data lakes, and processing infrastructure on Azure (or similar cloud platform). Own containerisation and deployment strategy, managing services through Kubernetes or equivalent orchestration. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, enabling reliable and automated delivery across environments. Manage infrastructure-as-code to ensure consistent, auditable, and repeatable provisioning. Partner with the data science team to build robust ingestion, transformation, and serving layers that support AI and analytics workloads. Drive good engineering practices across the team: security, cost management, documentation, and incident response. Technical skills Cloud platforms: Strong hands-on experience with Azure; comfortable with core compute, storage, networking, and data services Databricks: Experience designing or operating Databricks environments; knowledge of Spark and Delta Lake is valued Containers and orchestration: Comfortable with Docker and Kubernetes; experience managing production workloads at scale DevOps and IaC: Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Bicep Python and data tools: Proficient in Python for automation and pipeline development; strong SQL and experience with data processing frameworks Security and governance: Sound understanding of cloud security fundamentals – RBAC, networking, secrets management, and compliance Experience & Background A solid track record in cloud engineering, data engineering, or platform/infrastructure roles. Demonstrable experience designing and operating production data platforms in a cloud environment. Experience working closely with data science or ML teams to support their infrastructure needs. Experience collaborating with product and business teams to deliver client facing solutions. A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field – or equivalent professional experience. Very good written and spoken English is essential. Nice to Have Azure architecture or data engineering certifications. Databricks certification or significant hands-on experience. Background in FinOps or cloud cost optimisation. Familiarity with financial services, risk, or compliance data products.
