Senior Cloud Site Reliability Engineer Manager

Job Description

The Senior Cloud Site Reliability Engineer Manager will be a key technical leader within the System Reliability Engineering team, with a mandate to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of critical applications and services on Google Cloud Platform

Accountabilities

Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

Design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform to ensure consistent and repeatable environments on Google Cloud Platform.

Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using Python to streamline operational tasks, reduce manual intervention, and improve system efficiency.

Engineer and implement secure, scalable, and resilient cloud networking solutions within Google Cloud Platform, including VPCs, firewalls, and load balancing.

Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and efficient resource utilization.

Implement and manage robust security controls and secret management strategies to protect sensitive data and infrastructure in the cloud.

Champion and implement GitOps principles for continuous delivery, utilizing tools like Argo CD or Flux to manage application and infrastructure deployments.

Drive the adoption and implementation of Site Reliability Engineering principles, including defining and monitoring Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives.

Design, build, and optimize continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to enable rapid, reliable, and automated software delivery.

Lead incident response efforts for Google Cloud Platform environments, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures to improve platform resilience.

Qualifications

Significant experience within the banking or financial services industry is required.

Expert-level knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services, including compute, storage, and networking.

Deep functional knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Kubernetes.

Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically using Terraform.

Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards relevant to the financial industry.

Proven experience in developing automation scripts using languages such as Python.

Completion of a post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Working Conditions

Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence
